Facility Features: What Do We Have?
Here at the Belmont Shore Railroad Club, we take pride in offering an array of exciting attractions, headlined by our expansive 25 by 90-foot layout – a true centerpiece for enthusiasts. Our downstairs area houses a captivating train museum, which pays homage to Southern California’s rich railroad heritage. Accompanying the musuem is over 2 scale miles of N-Trak pieces meticulously arranged across three lines of DC/DCC track, there’s plenty to explore and enjoy. Additionally, our spacious meeting room provides the perfect venue for presentations, guest speakers, and our monthly club gatherings. Not to be missed is our newly completed dispatch room, equipped with dispatcher communication including a computer and programming track, facilitating seamless operation of our DCC locomotives during special train operation nights. We also have a spacious workroom for any modeling needs including paints, parts, tools, and even a large space for woodwork.
Club Connections: Our Community for Social Engagement and Service
As a member, you’ll not only gain access to our club’s exciting features but also become part of a vibrant community of fellow train enthusiasts. We regularly host social gatherings, including lunches and monthly breakfasts, providing opportunities for members to connect and forge lasting friendships. Our club is dedicated to fostering a sense of camaraderie and sharing our knowledge both through our events and community service initiatives such as a recently organized free modeling clinic for kids at a local church, exemplifying our commitment to giving back to the community.
In addition to our social activities, we organize field trips to other train clubs, attend train events, and occasionally indulge in railfanning excursions. You’ll also find us participating in local San Pedro events and activities at the historic Angel’s Gate Park. Our club prides itself on being family-friendly, offering a welcoming environment for enthusiasts of all ages.
