The Belmont Shore Railroad Year In Review
This year started out with a bang! With the new club president we began reaching out to local and city wide advertising stories of our club including the Los Angeles Times, random length magazine visit, San Pedro magazine, San Pedro today magazine, television channel 5, promoting our club, and not to forget social media with thousands of thousands of likes and views.
Also, starting this year, we began our monthly field trips to local clubs and personal collections in the Southbay area, also including visits from major vendors manufactures such a scale trains with a donation of $2,000.00 Furthermore the club incorporated our bi-monthly breakfast meetings on Saturday mornings before we open to the public for the members together and chat.
Outreach continued as we begin working closely with the city parks, department and effort to get the building repainted and repairs. We also had the main headquarters in the park visit our building, we began this year or outreach program to endorse the hobby of Model railroad with the first clinics to begin in February. A new world of projects are taking place on the layout this year I’m looking forward to 2024 with completion of many projects, and the Patick of new members starting new ones. We have also completed many improvements in our building, such as a woodroom organization, pegboard the meeting room, organization and new carpet the end track expansion, the museum upgrade, and the dispatch room, which will be completed in a month .
